Committed to the United Nations’s Sustainable Development Goal, Iqra University is making its mark by embedding SDGs within our governance, teaching, community initiatives, research and partnerships. Higher Education Commission awards Rs 63.2M to Iqra University for research projects

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) approved a hefty grant of Rs 63.2 million for the research initiatives proposed by the academics of Iqra University in the fields of engineering sciences, business studies, media studies, and social sciences under the National Research Program for Universities. The research projects will be completed in the time frame allocated — 18 to 36 months — under the supervision of principal investigators from Iqra University.

Our Startups working towards creating Sustainable Future

Our Startups have been making waves with their initiatives, we have incubated 9 start-ups in the year 2021 , including this in total we have 80+ startups who have now graduated from Iqra University Business Incubation Centre and are working in the growth stage.

Students Final Year Project & MVP Exhibition

Inorder to foster innovation at every level of our University, our students are required to develop a Project and/or Product in response to the challenges and social problem faced by local communities which are adaptable and scalable. In order to showcase the students talents and year long work, we organised the annual Final Year Project & MVP Exhibition, engaging industrial professionals, investors and corporate organisations.

Iqra University Annual Job & Startup Expo

Along with the career guidance, the key role of Department of Placements and Corporate Liaison, is to organise Annual Startup and Job Fair, following the framework of Industry – Academia Linkage Programme, since 2013, the event has become a flagship initiative of the University that garnered the attention of 1000s of students and 400+ companies across Pakistan. The 2021 Startup & Job Fair was scheduled virtually because of the pandemic and strict health regulations by the government of Pakistan.

Enhancing Entrepreneurial Acumen with Startup Competitions

Being one of the lowest ranking countries in the Human Development Index and increasing rate of socioeconomic and political crisis; ENTREPRENEURSHIP is what seems to be a viable solution to the country’s pressing social problems. Hence we conduct annual Jobs and numerous Startups Programmes for the capacity and entrepreneurial development of students.

Entrepreneurship for Decent Work & Economic Growth

Along with the recruitment drives and mentoring, we have a strong focus on building a fraternity of Young Entrepreneurs in Pakistan who work towards the Country’s income generation and economic stability. Our dedicated Entrepreneurship stream of study offers Bachelors, Masters, Research and Associate Degrees, upon completion of which students are offered free office space, participation in numerous startup competitions and initial funding to develop their own startups. So far Iqra University has incubated & graduated 80+ MVPs and Startup.

Next Goal
