Slide Background
Goal 10
Reduce Inequality

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for everyone.

Committed to the United Nations’s Sustainable Development Goal, Iqra University is making its mark by embedding SDGs within our governance, teaching, community initiatives, research and partnerships. Following programmes and events are led by IU Faculty, Staff and Students in the area of Goal 10: Reduce Inequality.

Inclusion & Acceptance as Our Duty

Iqra University affirms its commitment to ensure that each member of the University’s community shall be permitted to work and/or study in an environment free from any kind of illegal discrimination – including race, color, sex, pregnancy, religion, age, disability, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression and veteran status. The University recognizes that it is our duty to work towards a community in which diversity is valued and opportunity is equalised. We adhere to the commitment and strongly condemn the discrimination against or harass any member of the University community.

Our Infrastructure is Clean, Green and Disability Friendly

Our buildings are designed with peoples in mind, all of our buildings have numerous recreational spaces, libraries, loads of greenery and well-maintained, clean sanitary areas. Our aim is to remove and/or reduce any physical barrier that may put our students & staff at disadvantage. In addition to existing changes, we have also made some recent changes in our buildings, which includes widened doorways, relocation of door handles & light switches, handrails, increase number of on-campus wheelchair ramps, kerb ramps and proper signages across the corridors & all entry exit points, as well as, dedicated lifts.

We value diverse identities & experiences, and honour disability as an important aspect of human diversity. Under the patronage of the honorary Vice Chancellor and engaging students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders we have established “Disability Resource Centre (DRC)”, predominantly working in developing and implementing policies, university-wide measures, projects and events to facilitate accessibility and reduce barriers on campus to accommodate the needs of every individual despite of their mental and/or physical abilities.

Embracing Diversity at each level

The beauty of our community is the diversity of it, our students come from far & wide areas of Pakistan bringing in their own unique cultures and identities making our institute wholesome and inclusive. Around 10% of our community of 35,000 students & 1000 staff members studying & working across 7 campuses belongs to indigenous and refugee backgrounds. We also embed diversity in our curriculum & teachings and inculcate its importance in modern businesses practices and work ethics.

Equal Opportunity Employer & Strengthening our Diverse Team everyday

We pride ourselves to be the equal opportunity employer and stand by its ethos to treat each & every human being with dignity and respect. We are consistently working towards building diverse and inclusive teams that leads us to success and sustainability.
