Project 13 : Healthy Pets: Vaccination Campaign

The “Promoting Animal Welfare and Rabies Prevention” project aims to instill empathy and compassion towards animals among children in Karachi, while also addressing public health concerns related to rabies. Through educational activities focused on empathy and animal care, and mass vaccination campaigns in collaboration with ACF Shelter, the project seeks to prevent animal abuse and control the street dog population, ultimately contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), and 15 (Life on Land).d

Project Activities

  • Organized resources such as books, pictures, and videos to ensure a safe and engaging learning environment.

  • Implemented humane strategies to control Karachi’s street dog population through rabies vaccination.

Engaging government school children in activities promoting animal welfare fosters empathy and kindness, teaching them valuable lessons about responsibility and community involvement. Through these activities, children learn about teamwork, friendship, and contributing positively to their community. Mass vaccination campaigns against rabies have critical impacts on human and animal health, including preventing rabies transmission to humans, reducing healthcare costs, enhancing community safety, and promoting education and awareness about rabies prevention and responsible pet ownership. Overall, our project aims to make a significant and lasting impact on both human and animal well-being while contributing to the achievement of SDGs related to health, education, and environmental sustainability.
